Chinese New Year 2014 - Liverpool - 新年快樂

I'm a little bit late but last weekend was the celebration of Chinese New Year, with this year being my year aka Year of the Horse in Chinese Zodiac. The natural port of call for anyone in the area is to go and join the festivities in Chinatown, across the water in Liverpool. The main reason I wanted to venture over was so that I can continue to learn how to use my DSLR, but in reality it was always going to be the food that got me to stick around.

We arrived about half 11 and right through Bold Street to Chinatown was packed. I asked a security guard when the parade was going to take place and he said in a few hours. Less than 5 minutes later it began, perfect timing or what!

On the day we didn't manage to get round everywhere as we were also in town for shopping. However 'Bon Bon Bakery' was still a must visit as their custard filled buns are a necessity on any day of the year, and the shop was packed today especially.
